Have you got cockroaches picnicking in your keyboard? Well, till a while back we did! There were about 5-6 of them who would hide under the keys and party on whatever food crumbs came their way as a result of us snacking while working on the system. For reasons unknown to me, they suddenly left for greener pastures. We think it had something to do with the lizard that now resides in our kitchen after all she has put on a lot of weight recently.

The Big Deal About OpenID
Everyone seems to be talking about OpenID so why should I be any different. But hey this isn’t the only reason why I am writing about it. If OpenID catches up, the Internet will be converted to a single sign-on system. No longer will users haver to remember a hundred usernames and passwords, or keep the same credentials for all sites.
Basically, after you get your own OpenID you would lno longer have to fill in personal information to start using a site, rather you would click a logo similar to the one on your left to be taken to the OpenID provider. Here you will have to approve a request for your identity and return to the website that requested your identity in the first place. That’s how simple it is!
Integrate OpenID into your WordPress blog
Get the WordPress OpenID plugin and install it. From then on, visitors to your blog can quickly register login, and leave comments using their OpenID Identity.

Happy Birthday Tina!
Last night, Tina and I celebrated her birthday as the clock struck 12 with chocolate fantasy pastries from Cafe Coffee Day. The cakes that we get here in Hyderabad can be quite juicy at times, so we have to manage with pastries.
On Tina’s previous birthday, I had gone to Delhi to meet her. We weren’t married at that time so this trip was a complete hush-hush from both our families. We spent the day doing errands and meeting Rebecca, who incidentally was our partner in crime. She was the only one who knew that I was in Delhi to spend the day with Tina. Sweet as she is, Rebecca even allowed Tina to accompany me to the airport and stay with me till my flight the next morning. Once at the airport, we tried looking for a place where we could talk but when we couldn’t find one, we paid the parking attendant the parking money and sat in the car for over 7-8 hours and talked, talked, and then talked a bit more!
That was the best night of my life. There was no fooling around, we just talked. Hey don’t ask what because I don’t remember any of it. The only thing that I do remember is Tina giggling and chatting like the complete chatter box she is.
As I was about to check in, my dad called and told me that he and Tina’s dad had agreed to hold our engagement the coming Sunday, April 16th. As Tina had already left, I called her up to share the news. That poor thing was so tired because of lack of sleep that she could hardly say anything. Rather reluctantly, I said bye to Tina and boarded my flight with the promise of to stop-over at Delhi on the 14th on my way to Chandigarh for our engagement.
On that day, neither of us had imagined that we would be together on her next birthday that is today. April 14th was an amazing day as well. But I’ll leave the details for some other time, for now let’s just wish Tina a very Happy Birthday.
Dump Blogger for WordPress
Sayantani is a hard-core blogger.com fan and till now didn’t know about WordPress. Now after seeing this blog, she is thinking of moving to WordPress. But she is “very satisfied” with Blogger and wants me to really “sell” wordPress to her. So that is exactly what I am going to do here.
What follows is an overview cum how to on WordPress. If you too have been contemplating a move to WordPress but are scared of losing all you’re posts on Blogger, then worry no more. WordPress allows you to import not only Blogger, but also TypePad, LiveJournal, MoreMovableType, and a couple more.
Look Who Fell for the Gmail Paper Prank
Yes, I got fooled by the Gmail Paper joke. What’s more, I even spent 10 minutes trying to explain it to Dimple, who refused to believe what I was saying. I don’t blame her, even though I was pretty sure of what I’d read.
Then I came across this an article in PCWorld.com that sent all my illusions went down the drain.
It’s an alleged new Gmail feature that involves your e-mail automatically being printed out and mailed to you in shipping boxes. If it existed, I think some folks would use and like it.
Moral of the story: Don’t believe whatever Google says, especially if it is April 1st.
